Anemone 'Mistral® Bordeaux'

Note: This variety originates from our skilled breeder in Italy and is not frost-tolerant. Order now and plant in spring – or pre-sprout it indoors or in a frost-free greenhouse over winter. This extends the flowering season and brings blooms as early as early spring.

Anemone 'Mistral Bordeaux' is a deeply seductive and sophisticated variety from the Italian Mistral series, known for its large, silky flowers and rich colours. It blooms from March with broad petals in an intense burgundy shade that shimmers beautifully in the light and appears almost velvety in texture.

The centre is dark and surrounded by blue-black stamens, highlighting the flower’s deep colour and creating a dramatic yet harmonious expression. The plant grows to about 20–30 cm and bears its blooms on sturdy stems, making it ideal for both cutting and planting in containers or elegant spring borders. 'Mistral Bordeaux' brings warmth, depth, and a sense of quiet luxury to the garden – an anemone with both substance and grace.

It can be planted in both spring and autumn, but it is frost-sensitive. We recommend overwintering it in a frost-free greenhouse or covering it well with spruce branches or garden fleece during frost.
