Description
Allium 'Christophii' is a highly striking and decorative ornamental onion. It blooms in May/June with large, globe-shaped flower heads, up to 20–25 cm in diameter, made up of star-shaped flowers in a metallic purple hue with a silvery sheen. Each floral globe has a light, open structure, with long flower stalks creating an airy, almost floating effect.
The plant grows to about 40–50 cm tall and stands firmly on sturdy stems, while the broad, blue-green foliage dies back during flowering. Allium 'Christophii' is impressive both fresh and as a dried seed head, with its architectural form lasting long after blooming. A spectacular variety with both elegance and wow factor, perfect for both formal and more naturalistic gardens.
