Description
Allium 'Cowanii' is a graceful and airy ornamental onion that blooms in May–June with open, star-shaped flowers in pure white, gathered into light, dome-shaped clusters. The flowers have a delicate transparency and an almost shimmering sheen in the sunlight, giving the plant a light and floating appearance. They are held on slender, upright stems about 30–40 cm tall, above a tuft of narrow, fresh green foliage that dies back during flowering.
Allium 'Cowanii' is especially well suited to romantic or naturalistic plantings, where it brings elegance and lightness without overwhelming its surroundings. A discreet yet refined variety that pairs beautifully with lavender, perennial salvia, or blue anemones.
