Anemone 'Lord Lieutenant'

Anemone 'Lord Lieutenant' is a striking and richly coloured anemone that blooms in April–May with full, semi-double flowers in a deep royal blue to violet-blue hue. The petals are slightly ruffled and arranged in multiple layers around a dark centre with contrasting stamens, giving the flower a dramatic and almost regal appearance. It grows to about 30 cm in height and features the characteristic finely divided foliage that forms an airy, green base beneath the vivid blooms. 'Lord Lieutenant' is especially effective planted in groups in borders or containers, where its vibrant colour and elegant form bring a sense of depth and aristocratic charm to the garden.

It can be planted in both spring and autumn, but it is sensitive to frost. We recommend overwintering it in a frost-free greenhouse or covering it well with spruce branches or horticultural fleece during frosty periods.
