Description
Narcissus 'Pencrebar' is a charming and historic daffodil that brings a warm, golden glow to the spring garden. This dwarf variety, introduced in 1929, is known for its full, double flowers in radiant yellow, often described as small, ruffled pompons or miniature roses. Each stem typically bears one to two blooms, creating a lush and abundant display.
Reaching a height of around 15–25 cm, 'Pencrebar' flowers from March to April and is ideal for naturalising in lawns, rock gardens, or as a low border plant in beds and containers. Its sweet, light fragrance adds an extra sensory dimension and also makes it well-suited as a cut flower.
This variety thrives in both sun and partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. With its compact growth and resistance to deer and rabbits, it’s a reliable choice for gardeners seeking a low-maintenance plant with strong visual impact.
