Description
Narcissus poeticus var. recurvus – also known as the Poet’s Daffodil – is one of the oldest and most poetic of all narcissi, cherished for its pure beauty, intense fragrance, and late flowering. The bloom is classic and graceful: snow-white, slightly reflexed petals surround a small, flat cup in yellow edged with fiery red – a subtle yet vivid centre that catches the eye like a miniature sunrise.
This variety blooms late, often in May, and reaches about 35–45 cm in height. It stands tall and elegant in borders, naturalistic gardens, or wilder plantings, where it can gradually form large, fragrant colonies over time.
Its scent is among the most distinctive of all daffodils – sweet, spicy, and almost intoxicating – making 'Recurvus' an excellent choice for bouquets.
