Ipheion 'Tessa'

Ipheion 'Tessa' blooms in April–May with star-shaped flowers in an unusually pinkish-purple hue—darker and more intensely colored than most other ipheion varieties. Each flower has six pointed petals and a subtle, sweet fragrance.

The plants grow to about 15 cm tall and are well suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or containers. The leaves are narrow and grass-like, and may release a faint garlic scent when touched. 'Tessa' thrives in sun or light shade, spreads gently via offsets, and reliably returns year after year. A colorful and easy spring plant with great longevity and strong visual impact.
