Ranunculus 'Elegance® Bianco Sfumato'

NOTE: This variety originates from our skilled breeder in Italy and is not frost-tolerant. Order now and plant in spring – or start it indoors or in a frost-free greenhouse over the winter. This gives a longer flowering season and blooms already from early spring.

Ranunculus 'Elegance Bianco Sfumato' is an enchanting and subtly shaded variety from the renowned Italian Elegance series, known for its large, perfectly shaped flowers and silky-smooth petals. It blooms in spring with fully double flowers in a pure white base colour, delicately blurred (sfumato) with soft hints of pink toward the centre, creating a gentle, painterly effect.

The petals are tightly layered in a rose-like spiral and have a fine texture that catches the light with grace. The plant reaches about 30–40 cm in height and stands on strong stems, ideal for exclusive spring borders, containers, and elegant bouquets. 'Elegance Bianco Sfumato' radiates purity with an artistic edge – a ranunculus with calm, depth, and timeless finesse.

For best results, we recommend soaking the ranunculus tubers in water for about 2 hours before planting.

Ranunculus are frost-sensitive and should be lifted in autumn before frost arrives. The tubers must be stored in a frost-free place and can be replanted the following year. Alternatively, they can remain in the ground and be covered with spruce branches, garden fleece, or fallen leaves to protect them from frost. If planted in autumn, they should either be covered or overwintered in a frost-free greenhouse.
