Ranunculus Ranunkel 'Elegance® Viola'

NOTE: This variety originates from our skilled breeder in Italy and is not frost-tolerant. Order now and plant in spring – or start it indoors or in a frost-free greenhouse over the winter. This gives a longer flowering season and blooms already from early spring.

Ranunculus 'Elegance Viola' is a deeply alluring variety from the Italian Elegance series, known for its large, perfectly shaped blooms and strong stems. It flowers in the summer months with tightly layered, rose-spiraled petals in a rich, velvety violet hue that shifts from deep purple to dark bordeaux with hints of plum, depending on the light.

The blooms have a luxurious density and a sophisticated colour play that creates a dramatic and almost regal look. The plant reaches about 30–40 cm in height and is ideal for cutting as well as for exclusive pot or border plantings. 'Elegance Viola' brings intensity, elegance, and colour depth to the spring garden – a ranunculus with both character and classic beauty.

Ranunculus are frost-sensitive and should be lifted in autumn before the frost arrives. The tubers must be stored frost-free and can be replanted the following year. Alternatively, they can remain in the ground and be covered with spruce branches, garden fleece, or fallen leaves to protect them from frost.

If planted in autumn, they should either be well covered or overwintered in a frost-free greenhouse.
