Ranunculus Ranunkel 'Elegance® Viola'

NOTE: This variety originates from our skilled breeder in Italy and is not frost-tolerant. Order now and plant in spring – or start it indoors or in a frost-free greenhouse over the winter. This gives a longer flowering season and blooms already from early spring.

Ranunculus 'Elegance Viola 06' is a dramatic and deeply captivating variety from the refined Italian Elegance series, created to combine colour depth with perfect flower form. It blooms in spring with densely packed, rose-like flowers in an intense, velvety violet hue – a rich play of dark purple, plum and hints of blackish blue that shift beautifully in the light.

The petals are tightly spiralled, forming a symmetrical and compact bloom with an exclusive appearance. The plant reaches about 20–30 cm in height and stands on strong stems, making it ideal for both cutting and planting in containers or dramatic spring borders. 'Elegance Viola 06' brings a sense of depth, luxury and theatrical flair to the garden – a ranunculus with both intensity and elegance.

Ranunculus are frost-sensitive and should be lifted in autumn before frost arrives. The tubers must be stored in a frost-free place and can be replanted the following year. Alternatively, they can remain in the ground and be covered with spruce branches, garden fleece or fallen leaves to protect them from frost. If planted in autumn, they should either be covered or overwintered in a frost-free greenhouse.
