Description
Spanish scilla 'Rose Queen' (Hyacinthoides hispanica) is a graceful spring flower that brings soft colour and lightness to the garden just as spring fully unfolds. Its bell-shaped flowers, in soft pinkish violet to dusty rose tones, are arranged in upright, dense clusters on slender stems, creating a romantic and dreamy appearance.
It flowers from May and reaches a height of about 20–30 cm. The fresh green foliage forms a lovely base beneath the airy flower bells. 'Rose Queen' thrives in both sun and partial shade and is especially well-suited for forming carpets beneath shrubs, along paths, or in more naturalistic plantings where it can naturalise and return year after year.
This variety is less known than the blue and white forms, but its unique, muted pink tones make it a true gem in the garden – gentle, poetic, and unusual. An ideal choice for those seeking a spring flower with romantic charm and natural elegance.
