Galanthus 'Gravetye Giant'

Snowdrop 'Galanthus Elwesii Gravetye Giant' is a grand and refined form of the botanical snowdrop—a majestic presence in the snow-covered earth, heralding spring with remarkable strength and grace.

Its flowers are impressively large and elegant, with broad, pure white outer petals and inner petals adorned with fresh green markings, often shaped like an inverted heart or mirrored monogram. The blooms are held on sturdy stems reaching up to 20–25 cm tall, giving the plant an upright, almost regal stature. 'Gravetye Giant' blooms later than other snowdrops, around April to May, and spreads readily when well established—preferably in partial shade beneath deciduous trees or in woodland-style areas of the garden. Its foliage is broad and blue-green, which enhances the clarity of the blossoms.

This variety is named after Gravetye Manor in England, where it was selected for its exceptionally large and beautiful flowers—and it has since been treasured by snowdrop collectors and garden enthusiasts alike.
